The Famous Redbud tree, which is also the Oklahoma state tree.
We caught these a little early because the buds have not fully developed yet, but the colors are great. I love macro photography.

I read in Popular Photography about aiming rails for this kind of work and it sounded really intriguing. Small subjects like flowers and bugs are wonderful subjects when you get into the macro lenses.

I highly recommend a good tripod also. It is imperative when you want to use a smaller aperture and longer exposure with a slower iso speed to gain that clarity and sharpness that makes the details pop.

spring blossom

Looks like spring around here finally. Caught some bees and butterflies on some bradford pear tree blossoms. These were all handheld on the action program, totally auto exposed and autofocused. We used a Canon EOS 10D with a promaster 7 xr 28-300 lens. Not totally professional , but we have fun.
